Anthony Edwards Promises a Game 7 and Sportsbooks Agree
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves have hit a rough patch recently. After a promising start with a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference semifinals, they’ve stumbled, losing three consecutive games. This losing streak marks their first such slump of the season, and now they find themselves trailing 2-3 in the series.

After a tough defeat in game 5 against Denver, where they lost 97-112, the series is now returning to Minnesota. Now, it’s up to the Timberwolves to force a game 7, something Anthony Edwards promised as he was leaving the Nuggets arena after game 5.

Anthony Edwards promises a Game 7?

The Timberwolves’ previous visit to Denver was a real high point. They swooped into the Mile High City and clinched victories in both games, seizing a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. But fast forward to now, and the vibe has completely shifted. With three consecutive losses under their belt, the landscape has changed dramatically for the Timberwolves.

According to ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin Edwards was going back and forth with an arena worker, where he ended the conversation with, “see you game 7”.

Minnesota Timberwolves enter game 6 as favorites

Despite their recent three-game losing streak, Vegas is still confident in the Timberwolves’ chances to extend the series to a seventh game. They are heavily favored for game 6, with the Timberwolves sitting at -130 (DraftKings) on the Moneyline and a 2-point favorite if you bet the spread.

One major factor could be the Timberwolves playing on their home court, but surprisingly, they’ve lost both games there this series. It’s crucial for them to turn things around and secure a win to keep their hopes alive for Game 7.
